TPI groups different tea producer groups from the Darjeeling region, as for instance Teesta Small Farmers, which is a community that more recently has joined TPI. It groups around seventy farmers from Darjeeling, who have found in the tea agriculture the key in the development of their community.
TPI has advised and supervised them in the tea agriculture, in order to obtain a high quality product. Also they received technical assistance for the production of the compost and the correct crop of the tea leaves. Nowadays TPI is in conversations for the establishment of a fish-pond for tea, as well as the buy and marketing of the tea leaves.
