Manushi, the name that this organization chose, means "energetic woman". It is clear that one of the principal aims of this organization is to promote the equality of genre and at the same time a sustainable development, so that the social situation of women is improved. The birth of this NGO in 1991 was a response to the need of a source of income that many women suffer in Nepal. Nowadays 300 producers work for this organization, of which 240 are women. The handcrafted activities that they carry out rescue the traditional technologies and simultaneously adapt to the current needs in the production.
