CAEX

CAEX is a cooperative society founded in Xapurí, city in the state of Acre, by the Brazilian environmentalist Boy Méndez, in 1988, together with other 34 associates. They are now 240 associates, and devote themselves principally to the compilation of the Brazilian nuts, in an area of more than 8.000 square km. In the factory that they have arranged in Xapurí, they roast and pack this product, employing more than 100 persons, most of them women.
