CGTSM - Consejo General de la Tribu Sateré Maué
It is a representative structure of the population who lives in the indigenous area of Brazil, constituted by 7,000 persons distributed in 66 villas.
The major problem of the tribe Sateré Maué is the food deficiency. The principal reasons of this problem were, on the one hand the invasion of their territory in the seventies, when the rubber boom happened, and on the other hand the strong environmental and social imbalance created by the oil companies in the area.
